Scope and limitations
- MARITEC manages and oversees; the yard and its subcontractors execute the work and remain responsible for their workmanship and warranties
- We are not a contractor and do not self-perform repair or construction work
- Budget and schedule are managed actively, but outcomes also depend on yard performance, discovery work, and the timeliness of owner decisions
- The written scope defines the projects and systems covered; work outside it is not overseen

- Before tendering. The largest savings in a refit come from a clear specification and comparable quotes. Both are set before the vessel ever enters the shed.
- How are change orders handled?
- Every change is scoped, priced, and approved in writing before work proceeds, and each one is logged with its schedule and budget effect so the owner always sees the true running total.
- Can you oversee a yard period in another country?
- Yes. The oversight model (resident presence, periodic visits, or a combination) is agreed in the written scope based on the project's size and risk.
