How we work

MARITEC engagements generally follow a defined sequence, adapted to the service and the vessel. The scope, the fee, and the deliverables are agreed in writing before any work begins.

The engagement sequence

  1. 1. Inquiry

A confidential conversation about the vessel, the situation, and the decision you need to make.

  2. 2. Scope and proposal

A written scope stating what will be inspected, managed, or reviewed, and what will not. Fees, schedule, and access requirements are agreed in writing before work starts.

  3. 3. Engagement

The engagement is confirmed, logistics are arranged with the yard, crew, broker, or manager as appropriate, and a communication cadence is set.

  4. 4. Fieldwork and oversight

Inspection, project attendance, or on-site oversight performed personally, with photographic documentation and contemporaneous notes.

  5. 5. Reporting

A structured report: findings tied to evidence, ranked by severity and priority, with recommendations. We walk through it with you and answer questions.

  6. 6. Delivery

Reports, photographs, and project documents are delivered directly to you in electronic form.

What you receive

  • A written scope of work agreed before the engagement begins
  • A structured report with findings ranked by severity and priority
  • Photographic documentation supporting significant findings
  • Recommendations and suggested next steps
  • Progress updates on an agreed cadence for ongoing engagements
  • A follow-up review of the report, with your questions answered

Records and delivery

Engagement records are kept in order: reports, photographs, and documents are organized by vessel and project, delivered to you directly, and retained so later engagements can build on the same record.

Confidentiality

Client identities, vessels, project details, findings, and commercial terms are treated as confidential by default. We do not publish, reference, or imply an engagement without written permission, and we are glad to work under your own confidentiality agreement in addition to our own practices.

Start with a conversation.

Describe the vessel and the decision ahead. After the first conversation you will know whether we can help, what the scope should look like, and what it would take to begin.
